The Role The Plant Operations Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant across both day and night shifts, from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They develop processes that maximize ownership, safety, quality and productivity while ensuring a seamless handover between shifts. They will foster a culture where improvement opportunities are identified, actions are taken promptly and urgency underwrites the productivity of all site operations.
Key Responsibilities: Lead, motivate and support a large team in a time sensitive and productive environment to achieve company objectives.Develop excellence in a work safe, purposeful and food safe processing operation. Commit to plant Safety and Compliance procedures attending swiftly to issues raised.Ensure adherence to MPI regulations and AsureQuality standards.Provide technical advice and solutions to company and plant management.Develop and maintain a strategy plan and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize all processes.Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day and week to week operations to exceed our customer's expectations.Engage in Plant development and strategic activities with cross functional groups, working with maintenance and capital investment teams to secure the future of the site.Experience/Knowledge and Skills: A minimum of 10 years practical experience.Proven experience in managing and motivating teams.Sound knowledge of Health and Safety Management, Food Safety expectations and Compliance.Digitally literate, particularly with the Microsoft Office SuiteExperience in the Meat Industry or a range of manufacturing plantsKnowledge and understanding of preventative maintenanceCertifications in Food Safety such as HACCP (desirable)Full NZ Driver's LicenceOur Candidate: We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is passionate about driving excellence, capable of leading teams, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
