We are seeking a 'hands on' Workshop Manager to join our Christchurch team, working out of our newly constructed, purpose-built workshop. This is a pivotal role, where the successful candidate will be tasked with managing and motivating a small but committed service team, involved in the service and repair work of a range of Arboricultural machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Manages and leads the day-to-day work of the workshop team to ensure that work is carried out in a professional and timely manner by managing operational requirements and assigning jobs and resources, whilst reducing machinery down time.
Perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on machinery, equipment and plant in a safe, efficient, quality minded and customer focused manner.
Liaises with Service Administrator to ensure that all repair job costings, opening and closing of jobs are carried out on a daily basis.
Provides leadership with regard to the workshop job flow process and provides direction and support where necessary.
Actively monitors Arborstar reports to ensure that workshop KPI's are met including workshop productivity, operational summary, closed jobs etc.
Ensures the tidy and professional presentation of machinery on site and the workshop at all times.
Consistently and actively promotes health and safety within the workshop at all times, for staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will have:
Qualifications in Diesel/Heavy Machinery Servicing.
At least 3 years' experience in the repair and maintenance of a variety of vehicles.
The ability to work in a team or independently.
Personal organisational skills with the ability to plan and schedule work.
A high level of technical skill and enjoy repair and mechanical work on a variety of equipment & machinery.
Problem solving and diagnostic skills.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
