WoolWorks is the largest woolscouring company in the world, operating two high-scale production facilities in Timaru in South Canterbury and Napier in the Hawkes Bay.
In July 2023, WoolWorks Ventures was established to help develop new opportunities for New Zealand wool growers and the company.
This new entity benefits from the significant infrastructure and logistical footprint that WoolWorks already has established across New Zealand.
To execute our plans, Woolworks has established a new division, WoolWorks Grower Direct, to deliver efficiencies and improved outcomes for the benefit of New Zealand wool growers.
Based in our recently established Christchurch office, we require a wool superstar and all-rounder to join our growing team to help deliver on our new innovative approach.
In this role you will: Assist in the planning, development and execution of WoolWorks Grower Direct business plan.
Be responsible for the day-to-day management of WoolWorks Grower Direct supply model, systems, processes, and all things involved with taking wool from farm to the market.
Work closely with wool stores and logistic service providers, to ensure wool flows effectively from farm to our Wool stores.
Liaise with wool growers in an effective manner to help support successful grower wool supply activities.
Assist and create added value opportunities and efficiencies for growers.
Manage Wool Supply IT systems and processes.
Awareness and promotion of relevant grower certifications to buyers and others.
Support Senior Management through a flexible approach and adaptation to the revealing opportunities of the enterprise.
A multi-skilled applicant would ideally possess some or all of the following attributes: A strong understanding of the wool supply chain with a broad understanding of the various wool types and associated intricacies.
Previous knowledge of the Talman Wool IT System.
Good administrative and financial acumen including IT, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, MYOB.
Assist in developing marketing and promotional materials.
The ability to create Electronic Direct Mail (EDM's) campaigns is an advantage.
Effective communicator (written and oral) and strong influencer to a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong relationship building skills with farmers, wool industry participants, WW staff, and management.
Proven ability to work with a senior group of Managers.
Proven ability to facilitate change and improvement.
