To help us with this, we are searching for a Wholesale Funding Manager to join our team The main purpose of this critical new senior role, located in Invercargill, is to support the Manager - Treasury & Financial Analysis to provide thought leadership and contribute to the ongoing uplift to the Bank's treasury function including driving the Group's capital management and investor relations strategies.
What you'll be busy with: the development of SBS Capital Management Policy that complies with SBS goals and RBNZ requirements, including making policy setting recommendations.
preparing the Group's long term Capital Plan, including identifying sources and uses of capital, and ensuring the Capital Plan is appropriately supported and approved through the bank's governance forums (e.g.
ALCO, Due Diligence Committee, Board).
identifying and delivering initiatives to originate new capital (including new forms of capital or capital relief), including transaction documentation, deal execution and ongoing reporting.
leading and delivering initiatives to optimise the use of existing capital, including opportunities to improve the efficiency of risk weighted assets modelling.
actively seeking out market 'best practices' in relation to a Bank's treasury activities (e.g.
capital management, interest rate risk management, liquidity management) and use this knowledge to deliver ongoing uplifts to the Bank's treasury capability.
contributing to SBS wholesale funding strategy that complies with SBS goals and RBNZ requirements, including making policy setting recommendations.
creating and executing against a structured programme of investors relations.
maintaining knowledge and understanding of wider Treasury team to provide cover and support as required.
taking ownership of NZX disclosures and disclosure requirements.
What you'll bring: Previous experience in a senior Treasury management position ideally in a Bank context.
Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to enhance financial performance.
Experience writing reports and delivering presentations to senior stakeholders.
Experience with senior stakeholder management, including working with Board and Executive audiences.
Advanced financial modelling skills.
Some experience in regulatory compliance would be beneficial.
Preferably you will be a successful leader and/or have experience developing staff/teams.
Tertiary qualification either in finance, economics or a mathematics major.
Advanced or post-graduate level finance, risk management or mathematics related study and professional membership to either the Institute of Financial Professionals New Zealand or CAANZ would be advantageous.
