About the Role
As a Weekend Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving tasty and nutritious meals for morning & afternoon tea that meet the quality standards of the home. You will have some experience working in a commercial kitchen and planning and preparing meals for large numbers of people with a variety of dietary needs. You will also:
Ensure meals are served at the appropriate size and temperature.
Operate within food hygiene standards and protocols.
Be considerate of residents during mealtimes and ensure their needs are met appropriately.
Transport food safely from one Home location to another.
We are looking for someone who can work a minimum of 23 hours per fortnight, with shifts including alternate weekends. If you are willing and able to pick up additional hours to cover for leave, it's always a bonus and much appreciated within the Home. Get in touch and talk to us to find out more as we may just have the shifts that suit you! Our kitchen and dining hours do not operate late into the evenings, so it's the perfect hospitality role with hours that enable you to have some work/life balance. No more late nights working while everyone else is socialising!
About You
As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well-organised with great interpersonal skills and a sense of humour. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. You will also have:
Experience working in a kitchen (preferred).
Good communication skills and have a person-centred approach.
High standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
If you hold a food safety/hygiene certificate, that would be great, but if you don't have one, we can train you in what you need to know.
Enjoy being able to contribute to the work of your team and how this impacts the experiences of our residents.
A valid driver's licence.
