This involves the proactive management and delivery to the national portfolio of facilities including 15 prisons, 100 courts and 157 community correctional sites. This contract underpins the provision of availability of facilities to support core Government services.We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Water Treatment Operator based at Whanganui Prison to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality drinking water that meets all required standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of onsite potable water facilities and assets. This includes record-keeping, compliance reporting, and supporting the training of staff on water treatment processes and the management of potable water systems.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain water treatment systems to ensure the safe production of drinking water.Perform regular maintenance and proactive checks on water treatment facilities and assets.Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.Support the training and development of other staff in water treatment and management processes.Work flexible hours and effectively manage time to meet deadlines.This role is supported by the Water Technician and offers an opportunity to contribute to essential water management services in a dynamic environment.Nga pukenga matua | Important SkillsNational Certificate in Water Treatment Level 4 or higher and Class 1 Driver's License.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience in data collection and compliance reporting.Knowledge of chemical handling, confined space entry, working at heights, and potable water sampling.Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in public interaction.Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.Risk awareness with a high level of responsibility and initiative.Ko te take ka parekareka e koe ki te mahi ki konei | Why you will enjoy working hereDowner Is Committed To Delivering Excellence By Ensuring Our People Have The Environment And The Means To Be Successful.
