Ta tatou atarua – Our visionEnabling what mattersHe angitutanga - The opportunityWe're looking for a passionate Waste Minimisation Officer to join our team and play a key role in driving sustainability efforts across the Horowhenua District.
In this role, you'll develop and implement waste minimisation programs, support the creation and review of local waste management policies and bylaws, and ensure alignment with the Waste Minimisation Act 2008 and the National Waste Strategy.
You'll also monitor and report on waste trends, while engaging with and supporting the coordination of community education and promotion of sustainable waste practices.
If you're proactive, solutions-focused, and have a passion for working with our community and improving environmental outcomes, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact on our district's sustainability goals.He korero mou - About youYou are a proactive and solutions-driven individual with a strong interest in sustainability and a knack for managing activities and projects.
Ideally you have experience in community engagement, project management, or a related field, and have worked with local governments or organisations focused on environmental initiatives.
Having experience of or the ability to review, write, and implement local government policies and activity management plans would enable you to contribute to meaningful change in our District.
Your ability to effectively communicate and engage with diverse stakeholders will allow you to plan and manage activities that promote waste minimisation.
With a focus on delivering practical solutions, you will help drive local efforts and achieve waste reduction goals through collaboration and thoughtful planning.
