Located in the peaceful Otorohanga DistrictA newly created role to implement the WMMP for the Otorohanga DistrictAbout the role As Waste Minimisation Coordinator you will be responsible for providing strategic direction for managing waste in Otorohanga, including implementing and reporting on the delivery of the assigned objectives of Councils' current Waste Management and Minimisation Plan.
About you Your primary responsibilities will be developing and implementing best practice programmes to engage and educate the Otorohanga District community in waste minimisation, resource recovery & recycling and delivering face-to-face engagement & education on waste minimisation. To be successful in this role to you will:
Have previous experience of working in a similar role within local governmentBe knowledgeable of waste minimisation fundamentalsBe confident delivering environmental and behavioural change projectsBe able to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholdersAs part of working at ODC you may be relied upon to support the response in the event of a civil emergency. You will be provided with all the necessary training to support such a response.
Remuneration The remuneration range for this role is $74,290 - $87,400 per annum (pro-rated). Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
