Are you Hamilton City Council's next Waste Minimisation Coordinator? We are looking for a person passionate about 'reduce', 'reuse' and 'recycle' to join our resource recovery team.
What does a day in this job look like? In this role, you will be supporting vendors to ensure that waste is diverted to the best possible place away from landfills. Ultimately, waste will be avoided in the first place.
This is a varied role which includes a lot of interaction with the public, especially at H3 events. This includes liaising with volunteers and vendors to manage event waste and offer alternatives to deal with the waste.
There are two positions available based at different locations:

H3 in Hamilton
Hamilton City Council Municipal Offices.

This is what we are looking for:

A passion for the environment and waste management.
Experience in waste minimisation or environmental projects.
Experience delivering on activities or projects within a legislative environment.
An outgoing personality, easily able to build rapport.
Excellent people skills with the ability to bring others on the journey.
Ability to engage with a wide variety of audiences in both a formal and informal setting.
The ability to work late nights and weekends when needed.
