Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the roleWe are looking for an administrator to join our Surgical Ward team as a Ward Administrator working 0700 - 1500 on Saturday and Sunday. This role will effectively contribute to the smooth running of the ward by providing an efficient and timely administrative support function that is responsive and flexible to the changing needs of the service/organisation.Tasks include but are not limited to the following:Be the first point of contact for visitors (internal and external) to the ward and handling all manner of enquires, including being a first point of contact for complaints.Raising purchase orders for office equipment and clinical supplies, maintain ward stock levels and equipment coordination and inventory.Overseeing the cleaning, maintenance and repairs of equipment.Tracking and locating clinical records and data entry in patient management systems.Admitting and discharging patients into hospital systems.Ensuring patient referrals and clinic appointments have been made.About the Team/Service/LocationTe Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities. You will be extremely resilient, display maturity whilst making sound decisions, and have a professional can-do attitude in line with our values. As an experienced administrator you will be skilled at juggling multiple priorities, and able to remain calm under pressure.Ideally you will bring the following skills and experience:Previous experience in a clerical administration role.Be good at multitasking, and work well under pressure.Excellent word processing and data entry skills, with a strong eye for detail.A flexible approach with the ability to successfully prioritise your workload.Respectful nature handling confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
