Volunteer Te Manawaroa Ambulance Officer Casual
Primary Location: Northland
Hato Hone St John has been serving New Zealanders and working to save lives since 1885. As well as providing Ambulance Services, our programmes and team of over 11,000 staff and volunteers are helping to build strong, resilient communities across the motu; supporting everyone in Aotearoa to live healthier, happier and longer lives.
Ambulance Officers who hold the portfolio of Te Manawaroa will play a crucial role in a mana maori motuhake (by Maori for Maori) approach to strengthening connections with Maori communities with a focus on tangata whenua.
They will learn and share tikanga along with holding an understanding of the importance of contributing to achieving Maori health equity for all Maori patients and their whanau.
Our Ambulance & Events Officers provide care and support to our patients through their journey which may start at a 111 call and end either being referred to another health care provider, treated on scene, or transported to a medical facility.
We offer NZQA-recognised training and will give you all the support and education needed to make you safe and effective in the field. Once accepted, your online and classroom training and workbooks will take around 6-9 months to complete.
