You will be helping to support a modern way of volunteering that can take place online or in-person, connecting volunteers with communities. This is a unique role that blends volunteer recruitment with internal and agency approaches to recruitment.
VSA has been going through an exciting period of growth, and we have one full-time fixed-term position available until 30 June 2025. Ko wai matou – Who are we Te Tuao Tawahi- Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) is New Zealand's largest and most experienced volunteering agency working within international development. We partner with businesses, governments and organisations located here and abroad to send volunteers on assignments overseas or online. Te ahua o Te Turunga – The nature of the position As one of our volunteer recruitment advisors, you will be tasked with finding, screening and selecting the volunteers who make us who we are as an organization. In this role, you will get to work with a wide variety of high-caliber professionals from doctors to business advisors to beekeepers. You will be rewarded with knowing that the volunteers you select will be going to help make a difference, and it is this purpose that will guide your mahi.
You will be a leading part of a comprehensive end-to-end recruitment process where we not only look at professional fit but also value alignment and cultural competency. You will showcase your skills throughout the process from promoting vacancies/assignments, sourcing candidates, leading panel interviews, participating in recruitment campaigns, and ultimately choosing which volunteer to present. You will work closely with your wider group to ensure the volunteers you select have a successful journey with us.

As one of our Recruitment Advisors you will ideally have:
Proven experience with end-to-end agency or internal recruitment or volunteer recruitment experience.Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to interact in a culturally respectful manner at all levels across both New Zealand and Pacific organisations.Confidence in both verbal and written communication skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure.You will be successful in this role if you bring a high level of motivation and initiative, self-management, and the ability to work autonomously to deliver results to deadline.

The starting salary for this role is between $69,212 - $81,427, depending on skill and experience.
This role is Wellington-based, with the flexibility to work from home up to a couple of days a week. This role will likely start in January 2025.
