The Position:
This position includes planning and supporting people to participate in a meaningful way in the community by assisting in gaining and maintaining social, health, education, whanau and cultural connection. Previous professional experience in the intellectual disability field and knowledge of Enabling Good Lives' Values is an advantage but not essential.
Hours of Work: This is a Part-time position working 64 hours per fortnight.
Week 1 and Week 2: Monday through to Thursday: 0800am until 1630pm. These hours are flexible for the right applicant.
Skills and Experience:
A passion for people, be patient, friendly and kind
Previous experience working as a Support Worker
The ability to understand and connect with people
Energy, enthusiasm and enjoy being part of a team
The ability to provide personal cares when required
Professionalism, honesty and be a reliable team player with a flexible approach
Full NZ Driver License as part of your role will be driving a MASH van
Health & Wellbeing certificate preferable or willingness to work towards one.
A good understanding of enabling good lives, community activities
This position may close earlier if the right candidate is found.
