Position Overview

Looking to take your Vet Nursing skills to the next level?
Then come work for us!

Our Emergency and Critical Care Unit in Palmerston North is fast-paced and perfect for the nurse looking to perform advanced skills, such as catheterisation, U-catheter placement, feeding tube care, pain management, critical patient monitoring, and central-line care, to name a few!
We are kitted out with advanced diagnostic equipment like ultrasound, CT, in-house diagnostics, onsite pathology, and much more.

Our nurses' education and passions are important to us: we have yearly funds and support for ongoing education and a team of 40+ nurses who are supportive and willing to help new staff gain the skills they need to succeed.
The induction process is facilitated with our clinical coordinator; a thorough 2-week training period to prepare you for joining the team.

You would be able to work with a range of experienced nurses, vets, and specialists, giving you the opportunity to widen your skill sets and learn heaps!
Our team aims to provide the best quality care to all our patients: join us if you too value community, inclusion, integrity, respect, innovation, and excellence and your wellbeing.

This position is 0.91FTE (34.3 hours/week), includes day, evening, and night shifts: the roster is modelled on human nursing and consists of 6 days on, 4 days off.
Working the 24/7 roster qualifies the nurses for an additional 15% bonus to their salary.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who possesses excellent communication skills, is keen to engage and learn, and has a passion for education.
As part of Massey Vets, you will be involved in teaching our final year veterinary undergraduates.
Experience in GP is preferable but not essential for the right candidate.
Appointment will be within the grade 4 salary range ($48,596 - $71,027) - applications will be reviewed upon receipt, so apply now!
