Rural Endoscopist - Te Whatu Ora, Te Tai TokerauNorthland is seeking an enthusiastic Rural Endoscopist to join Te Whatu Ora, Te Tai Tokerau. This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE) and the role offers the following:General GI with clinic and endoscopyERCP and GI luminal stent skillsNo nights, no weekend callExcellent departmental support from pathology, surgery, and radiologyA team of 4 supportive gastroenterologists is looking for an additional team member who can provide general GI and basic ERCP skills to support the care of the growing population in New Zealand's idyllic Northland. Our current advanced therapeutic endoscopist is eager to transition the ERCP service to a new energetic team member.Kaitaia Hospital and Whangarei Hospital provide endoscopy services for the region. Te Whatu Ora is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Maori as Tangata Whenua as the highest priority.The subtropical Northland region stretches upwards from Auckland to the very top of NZ, covering an area of 12,600 square kilometres with a growing population. Northland is a story of two coastlines – the west coast is rugged and soulful while the east coast is relatively more sophisticated and urbane. Boasting some of the most scenic and exciting seaside areas in the country, there is a range of popular attractions and recreational activities. We are also a two-hour drive or 25-minute flight from the international hub of Auckland.To be considered you must have or be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, in an Internal Medicine scope of practice. Ideally, you will possess FRACP or an equivalent qualification; however, we are open to hearing from advanced trainees nearing completion of their training.
