Minus 5° ICE BAR is one of the most iconic venues in Queenstown, and the first ice bar in the Southern Hemisphere. Offering guests an unforgettable experience with ice sculptures, creative cocktails, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, we are constantly innovating to stay ahead of the curve.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Venue Manager who's ready to lead with passion, inspire their team, and drive the continued success of Minus 5° ICE BAR. You'll be a key part of a business that thrives on creativity, operational excellence, and a commitment to a culture of growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development:

Lead by example, inspiring your team with your passion for hospitality and tourism, while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
Foster a positive, collaborative team culture, ensuring all staff members feel valued and supported.
Implement and oversee staff training, performance reviews, and reward programs to develop a high-performing, motivated team.

Operational Management:

Oversee daily venue operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service while maintaining the highest safety and operational standards.
Manage stock control, including inventory management, and ensure cost-effective use of resources (including COGS).
Implement and uphold the Alcohol Management Plan and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and company procedures.
Handle key administrative tasks such as banking, booking system management, and reporting.

Guest Experience & Sales Focus:

Lead a team that consistently delivers exceptional guest experiences, turning every visitor into a repeat customer.
Use your strong sales background to implement strategies that drive revenue and increase guest satisfaction.
Communicate effectively with guests and staff from around the world, ensuring everyone feels welcomed and valued.

Maintenance & Property Management:

Work alongside the operations manager to ensure the venue's property is maintained to the highest standard.
Troubleshoot issues and manage maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Leadership & Growth:

Take an active role in your own growth and development, as well as that of your team.
Drive business success through innovative ideas, operational efficiency, and strong leadership.
Regularly assess and improve processes and systems to ensure the venue's continued growth and success.


What You'll Need:

Proven Leadership Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a similar role, with strong leadership and team management skills.
Hospitality Management Expertise: Experience managing day-to-day operations in a hospitality or tourism setting, with a focus on delivering excellent customer experiences.
Sales-Driven Mindset: A passion for driving sales, profitability, and growth within a customer-centric business.
Strong Communication Skills: The ability to engage and communicate with diverse customers and staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all.
Problem-Solving & Efficiency: Strong organisational and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
A Growth-Oriented Attitude: A genuine desire to learn and develop, with a proactive approach to leadership and business improvement.
