We are seeking an experienced Communications and City Marketing Manager to join us! This role is responsible for the strategic coordination, management and delivery of all DCC's communications, marketing and web activities.
Work closely across Council with other departmental managers to provide communications and marketing advice and support, ensuring consistent and coordinated communications and marketing across the organisation.
The key responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to the following: Work with the Executive Leadership Team, and the wider DCC team, to scope and develop a new Communications and Marketing Plan for the DCC that aligns with DCC strategic direction, that is inclusive and supportive of Te Ao Maori, and which ensures we communicate effectively with our diverse community. Develop and implement a plan to build and manage relationships with local and national media and identify measures to monitor these relationships. Provide strategic advice and guidance on the priorities for DCC marketing and all related aspects of DCC's marketing, branding and graphic design programme. Provide leadership and direction to the Council Communications and Marketing team. To be considered for this role, you will: Have a relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing and/or Communications. Understand the obligations of Local Government under the Treaty of Waitangi. Have knowledge of Te Ao Maori (te reo Maori, Tikanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi). Have a minimum of 5 years' management experience within Communications, preferably managing a team within a political or highly complex organisation. Have demonstrated understanding of local government. Have experience in budgeting, strategic planning and project implementation. What we offer: 5 weeks annual leave.
