Otago community hospice is on the lookout for an exceptional nurse to step into the role of urban team coordinator for our specialist palliative care team in Dunedin, New Zealand. The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide the highest quality care to patients within the hospital. Our urban team coordinator plays a vital role in leading a diverse and multidisciplinary team. Candidates are committed to continuous improvement and drive excellence across all facets of service delivery, education, and professional development. They must have the ability to support a team towards a common goal of providing exemplary palliative care. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $130,278 – $130,278 per year. For this position, candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in palliative care, with prior leadership experience being highly desirable within the clinical health department.
Qualifications for Urban Team Coordinator:Minimum of five years post-graduate experience in palliative care.Prior experience in areas such as acute medical, oncology, and palliative care.Hold or be willing to pursue a Master's Degree in health sciences within 12 months of appointment.Ability to work towards an accepted portfolio (PDRP), as per the New Zealand nursing council's framework.Confident in public speaking and education delivery.Moderate to expert level IT skills, including proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.Requirements for Urban Team Coordinator:Ability to work autonomously as well as within a multidisciplinary team.Be self-motivated, innovative, and empathetic.Professional credibility with colleagues and other persons.Commitment to professional credibility and continuous learning.Ability to cope with stress, conflicting demands, and manage a heavy workload.Demonstrate effective problem-solving, decision-making, time management, organizational, and delegation skills.Skills:Promotion of excellence in palliative care service provision.Provision of effective clinical leadership.Effective day-to-day management of the allocated clinical team.Ensure the team adheres to procedures and organizational policies.Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Benefits:Work efficiently through autonomy and teamwork.Personal fulfillment from self-motivation and empathy.Opportunity for continuous professional growth and development.Competitive salary range.Flexible working hours.At Otago community hospice, we're dedicated to providing high-quality care to our patients and their families.
