The opportunity: As an Underwriter, you will assess risk and determine appropriate sound and fair terms and conditions for new business applications in line with AIA underwriting guidelines, philosophy, and timeframes. Maintain a focus on new business onboarding objectives by providing great service to our partners and customers without compromising on the quality or placing AIA at undue risk. Key responsibilities include: Assessing all cases within individual queue and/or tasks allocated Working quickly and efficiently through assessments without compromise Ensuring underwriting decisions are sound and fair, customer-centric and based on appropriate AIA underwriting guidelines and philosophies Determining the appropriate policy terms and conditions Reviewing complex cases with Underwriting Managers and/or the Chief Underwriter when necessary to make a business decision Establishing and building effective and meaningful working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders Responding to all requests, issues, and questions in a timely professional manner Effectively explaining underwriting decisions with all required stakeholders/partners to facilitate policy conversion Inputting all comments, information and relevant notes in appropriate platforms used by the Underwriting Team. Ideally, you'll bring: At least 3-5 years' experience in medical and financial underwriting Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to negotiate. Why choose AIA?
