The Turner Centre in the heart of Kerikeri is a dynamic, multi-purpose performing arts centre and community hub. "Te Ranga Toi Waka – to be the waka that weaves all of the arts together" – is the enduring vision for our community. Since its opening in 2005, the Centre has been home to more than 2000 events! In 2023 alone, 70+ concerts and theatre shows, 490 additional events and 130 commercial hires were produced and staged. Our unique Centre welcomes 30,000+ visitors annually to programmes that highlight world-class productions, music, dance, comedy, art, and conferences, and most importantly, our beautiful Maori culture in Tai Tokerau.  And the excitement is building, literally! The Turner Centre is underway with a new strategic plan combining an innovative phase of re-development with a rejuvenation construction project. Because of the busy and invigorating time ahead, our talented, diverse group of seven locally-based Trustees who donate their time and experience need YOU! Are you proficient and qualified in any of the following capacities?  • Fundraising/Sponsorship & Philanthropic Donations • Legal Knowledge in Trusts & Funds • Building Facilities  • Volunteer Recruitment & Management • Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Maori  • Networks & Engagement in Te Tai Tokerau • Connections with Artists & Art Communities  • Technology and On-line Platforms • Financial Management & Reporting If you are selected as a volunteer Trustee, you will meet monthly with the Board, while conducting committee work between meetings.
