Treasury Accountant (Finance Specialist) - TreasuryFull-timeAir New Zealand has a clear and compelling strategy to deliver improved business performance resulting in sustainable, profitable growth across the Air New Zealand Group.An opportunity has arisen to join our Group Finance team as a Treasury Accountant (Finance Specialist (Treasury).
The role is responsible for undertaking treasury accounting functions with a focus on hedge accounting and back-office processes including month-end reporting, forecasting and project initiatives.
As part of the team, you will support daily settlements and provide input into statutory reporting processes.Responsibilities:Perform month-end treasury accounting and hedging processes for interest rate and fuelPrepare treasury-related forecast information and analysisAnalyse and present hedge accounting impact on the monthly resultsSupport treasury related statutory reporting and external audit information requestsEnsure strong balance sheet controls through preparation of general ledger reconciliationsRespond to ad-hoc treasury related queries and requestsSupport treasury payments authorisations and provide back-up functions for the Settlements OfficerEnsure that new and existing systems, processes, procedures and work practices are continuously improvedSupport project work including those associated with treasury systems (Quantum and Reval)To be considered, you will be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline with a Chartered Accountants (or equivalent) qualification.
You will be expected to have a minimum of four years work experience.
Ideally, you will have previous commercial experience in a large corporate with a treasury background.You will succeed in this role if you have a strong analytical focus, attention to detail, are deadline focused, a lateral thinker, have excellent communication skills, and are comfortable dealing with multiple systems.
