About the role: The overarching purpose of a Transport Funding Advisor is to coordinate and foster effective funding relationships between the Council and Waka Kotahi - NZ Transport Agency. This includes preparing funding applications and processing progress claims to maximise Council's revenue for capital, maintenance and operational activities, managing and co-ordinating funding applications to Environment Canterbury, and managing and coordinating the requirements for NZ Transport Agency audits.
You will be the key liaison and provide advice and guidance to staff and other senior professionals regarding all transport funding matters. You will use your excellent communication skills to be a core part of the ongoing review, revision and development of strategies, policies and plans in regard to transport funding.
About you: With a proven background in a related role, you will hold a degree qualification in Management, Planning or a Transport related discipline and have a strong understanding of local government legislation, rules and guidelines. You will have experience in fund management and have the organisational skills to prove it. As a true problem solver, you will have the ability to anticipate potential problems and develop preventative action plans.

Additional information: Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
Salary - The salary band for this position goes from 85,015 to $94,461 per annum based on a 40 hour working week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
