Te Whanau Tupu Ngatahi o Aotearoa - Playcentre Aotearoa is a well known and loved Early Childhood organisation with over 80 years of supporting parents to take the lead in their children's learning through play. Playcentre operates over 400 Playcentres throughout the country.
We're looking for someone who knows their way around Xero/ Dynamics Business Central or has a background in Accounting to lead our Centre Transition Team as they support our centres through a move to a new operating model. You will work with centres to set them up as a cost centre and guide them through procedures for payment of expenses, receipt of revenue and reporting. Accuracy and efficiency are key in this important role with the added bonus of a fantastic team to work alongside.
Job Description This fixed term position through to 24 October 2025 is full time and based at our National Office in central Porirua.
You will be responsible for leading the Transition team, ensuring workloads and priorities are managed appropriately. Your communication skills will be an asset as you lead engagement with centre whanau, sharing information, advising and guiding them through processes. The Transition Accountant will complete the transfer of assets from centres to National Office.
Desired Skills and Experience: Experience using finance system software (Xero, Business Central)
Background in accounting and/or relevant business/accounting related qualification
Honesty, discretion, sensitivity, self-discipline and resilience
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and computer literacy
Organised - excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Knowledge of or experience within Playcentre is preferred but not required.
