Job Description
Join our dynamic Transhipment team, where we take pride in managing cargo flowing through New Zealand borders with precision and speed. As a Transhipment Coordinator reporting directly to the Transhipment Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in orchestrating the final leg of the journey to the Pacific Islands.
As the primary contact for all transhipment bookings, you'll be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring a seamless process and outstanding customer experience. This exciting opportunity is a 7-month fixed-term contract, covering parental leave.
In this role, you'll actively contribute to the day-to-day operations by spearheading initiatives to continuously improve and elevate the customer experience. Collaboration is key, and you'll work closely with various departments within NPDL and engage with principals to guarantee the smooth and efficient processing of all transhipment services.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Managing transhipment cargo flows from origin to final destination
Managing relationships with shippers, liaising on pricing, vessel connections and cargo releases
Coordinating and managing bookings, updating rates & manifesting for various trades
Managing transhipment port shuttle moves, customs clearance and local transport
Submitting container equipment moves and pre-alerts details
Ensuring trade specific timelines are met for documentation in advance of the vessel's arrival date
Ensuring uplift reports are sent as soon as vessel has sailed
Processing all express releases and assisting with export documentation
Updating of all vessel voyage details and uploading vessels into ERP
Other duties as required

Qualifications
Here's what you'll bring to the table:

Previous experience in a similar position within shipping/freight (advantageous)
Experience with CargoWise desirable
Tertiary studies in management / business administration with supply chain desirable
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Strong technical skills and the ability to adapt and learn quickly
