Mokopuna Ora is a kaupapa Maaori, strengths-based, and whaanau-led model of care. It supports whaanau and mokopuna in navigating Aotearoa's complex care and protection system, ultimately reducing the number of iwi Maaori mokopuna entering the care system. By empowering whaanau to take necessary steps, they can provide a safe and loving home for their mokopuna.
Moo te Tuunga | About the Role The Transformation Manager will play a key role in delivering the Waikato-Tainui Mokopuna Ora business strategy and outcomes framework, aligning with Te Whakatupuranga 2050.
This is a leadership role within the Mokopuna Ora Strategy and Transformation team, responsible for directing, managing, and motivating the team. The role involves developing and maintaining an agreed project plan, including detailed, staged plans, focused on coordinating the development of an iwi-led, whaanau-informed model of care.
A solid understanding and application of business case development and risk management processes are essential, as is the ability to tailor expert knowledge to meet specific needs. The role will leverage Waikato-Tainui's influence as a Te Tiriti partner to guide decision-making on resource allocation, processes, systems, strategies, policies, practices, legislation, commissioning, and resourcing related to the care and protection of tamariki mokopuna.
This position will lead and draw on the expertise within the Strategy and Transformation team, which spans project management, Government policy, community relationships, and care and protection specialists. The goal is to facilitate the development of a comprehensive new model of care.
Ngaa Puumanawatanga Oou | What You Will Bring Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.8-10 years of relevant experience in business, policy, project management, change management, and/or system enhancement.Proven leadership experience managing multi-functional teams with diverse expertise.Ability to navigate a complex, fluid, and ambiguous environment while influencing stakeholders at all levels.Experience overseeing projects throughout their full lifecycle, meeting deadlines, and achieving quality outcomes and financial and non-financial targets.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to form sustainable, positive relationships.Conflict resolution skills and the ability to manage emotional situations.A sound knowledge of Waikato-Tainui and tikanga, along with a developing proficiency in te reo Maaori.
