The role As a Trainer and Works Planner , you will assess and deliver training for apprentices and the wider stations group, including creating plans and resources.
It's a hands-on role, involving field-switching and working with the Transmission Substations team to manage projects.
Reporting to the Planning and Training Delivery Manager, this role is based in Hamilton.
You will also be responsible for: Assess training needs, design programs and schedule sessions Create educational materials and conduct workshops, seminars and individual training Monitor and mentor trainees, ensuring they meet training goals and pathways Provide technical field training, support onboarding modules and specialist training initiatives Conduct condition assessments on substation equipment, manage asset naming and create repair/replacement programs Ensure efficient management of people, plant, and resources, while driving continuous improvement and cost savings.

Additionally, possessing the following would be beneficial: Experience with SharePoint and Learning management systems Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a multi-cultural environment A strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems and make decisions Ability to motivate and influence others while demonstrating integrity and trust Electrical Registration with practising licence(s) Full Clean Driver's License Knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice, Policies, Standards, Work Procedures, Legislative requirements and the relevant Parts of the Safe Manual – Electricity Industry (SM-EI) Current Workplace Competency (WTC)'s including Maintenance Switching & Substation Maintainer Competencies Excellent communication skills, written and verbal Great computer skills, with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Project.
