A rewarding opportunity has become available for a Trainee Project Manager to assist our experienced PMs in the delivery of Capital Works in Auckland.
The role Reporting to the Delivery Manager, Major Works you'll be supporting our PMs in the delivery of contracting projects to meet Client requirements safely, on-time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
You will also assist in scheduling, planning, and managing resources efficiently.
You will receive comprehensive on-the-job training in all phases of project management and supported with professional certification.
You will be working with project managers, field managers, clients, consultants, contractors, and design estimators to deliver cost-effective solutions.
You will also assist in providing accurate and timely reporting to client and internal customers on project status including: WIP (work in progress) Invoice forecasting both internal and external Regular reports to clients Overall project forecast Monitor and manage financial performance of projects Complete financial reconciliation of open projects What's in it for you?

We're looking for an individual who will have: - NCEA Level 5 Diploma in Project Management or equivalent OR studying towards gaining a diploma preferred but not essential - Knowledge and experience in New Zealand electrical distribution networks, construction and/or infrastructure sectors is advantageous - Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills - Capability to build and manage strong rapport with internal & external stakeholders - Competent in computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel - A proactive approach and solutions focused with good problem-solving skills - Clean, full, class 1 Driver's License - Enjoy working in team environments, yet able to work self-directed - Enthusiasm and ability to learn relevant systems quickly About us Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider for Whangarei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers and over 90 years of network ownership.
