Join our team in Wanaka as a Trainee Network Operator and play a crucial role in maintaining our community's infrastructure. The Trainee Network Operator is responsible for supporting the Network operational teams ensuring all network assets and infrastructure are operated effectively.

Maintenance of all reticulation infrastructure and associated network assets (Planned, Routine, Breakdown). Identifying and escalating problems. Undertaking designated operations duties - supervision based on capability. Fault finding and repairs to assets and infrastructure, ability to use equipment to undertake repairs. Working with internal staff, sharing of knowledge and skills. Participating in the On-Call duty operator Roster - supervision based on ability. Contribute to the management of Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Environmental Management Systems, while applying these procedures in all aspects of work. Comply with the VW-ANZ Behaviour Framework. Comply with the requirements of Veolia's Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Policy Statements. Adhere to all written and verbal instructions, procedures and information issued by Veolia. Comply with the requirements of the company's business management system and the Quality Policy for drinking water, wastewater treatment and disposal. Report any problems with the business management system. Undertake required regulatory and role-specific on-the-job training. What you'll need to be successful Qualifications: Combination of education, training and industry experience. Computer literacy. Experience: Provide hands-on industry experience. Exposure to the water and/or process industry and basic understanding of various water infrastructure technologies and processes is preferable. Proven ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues and contractors. Proven problem-solving skills and proposed methodologies. Personal Attributes: Ability to assess and assimilate a wide range of information and consolidate a position or assessment effectively. Persistence and confidence in own judgement and capability. Ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances, strong analytical skills and focus on quality of work. A self-starter. Results-focused team player. High degree of personal integrity. A positive attitude. Other relevant skills or information: Associated industry skills. Physically fit. Strong literacy, numeracy, computing, communication and interpersonal skills.
