Company Description: Queenstown's largest hotel, Novotel has 273 rooms catering for leisure guests, incentives, and small meetings. Novotel is situated in the best location in-town and on Queenstown's lakefront.
Job Description: This is a critical role to assist the Maintenance team within the Hotel with a focus on protecting and maintaining the owner investment, ensuring safety and comfort of guests during their stay, and allowing staff and contractors to effectively and safely carry out their roles of caring for our guests.
Responsibilities: Carry out preventive maintenanceWork in day-to-day operations for maintenance requirements of the hotel; responsibilities are varied and require a range of skillsInvolved in aspects of building, equipment, energy consumption, water, contractors, and environmental managementGood written and verbal communication to a high levelWork unsupervised in many instancesPart of a small team and part of a greater hotel team of 130Diverse and multi-cultural staff where we do our best to make everyone feel welcomeRespond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and if there are delays, promptly advise the Chief Engineer and/or the Manager on Duty4-day weekMainly inside work; the hotel is warm in winterProud supporters of Cure Kids and Trees for Survival with local primary schoolsUniform washed and launderedA meal provided on shiftSalary: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
Qualifications: Previous experience in a handy person role for 12 months or a trade qualification.
