You will be working on board our trains, keeping everyone safe and informed during their journey.About the RoleYou will be the go-to person for commuters, visitors and other passengers as they travel from A to B - as you walk the length of the train and pass through each carriage during your journey, you will be responsible for making announcements, keeping people informed, answering any questions, de-escalating situations and operating the doors at each station. Please note this isn't a managerial role - you are responsible for the customers on board the train, their safety and comfort.This is a permanent, full-time position and you must be able to work rostered shifts across the fortnight on a rotating basis.Full paid training is provided and involves six weeks of classroom training at our Wiri depot and six weeks of on-the-job training across the network. Uniform and PPE are also provided and no previous experience as a Train Manager is required.This is a chance to work in one of the fastest growing industries in Auckland as our transport network continues to expand.About YouWe are looking for customer focused, well-presented, health and safety-minded people who are able to stay calm under pressure and can handle stressful situations. Current Location Which NZ driver licence do you currently hold? Please confirm your availability for the following dates (select all that apply) This is a full-time (80 hours per fortnight), permanent position and involves shift work – we operate on a 14-day roster, with early, mid and late shifts. Shifts are allocated on a rotating basis i.e., you will have a mixture of all shifts across the fortnight with rostered days off. As an example, the earliest shift can be 4am-12pm and the latest shift can be 4pm-2:30am (or similar).Is there any reason you would not be able to work rostered shifts on a rotating basis? What is your current notice period? Remuneration package – Training: $31.48 per hour. On completion of training: $32.88 per hour. These rates are set by a Collective Agreement which covers this role. Overtime and penalty rates apply. Please confirm you are comfortable with these hourly rates. While completing the training you will be based at the Wiri depot to begin with but will also be required to go to the Papakura, Henderson, and Strand Parnell depots during training, you will need to consider driving to these depots. Are you ok with travelling to those other depots? Training involves at least 6 weeks of theory and 6 weeks of on-the-job training.
