Head Of Portfolio - Property & Development

Our client, Southern Cross Healthcare, is the largest private provider of healthcare in New Zealand.  With a nationwide portfolio of hospitals and specialist centres they have a significant property footprint throughout New Zealand which is managed internally by their Property & Development team.
  
In this newly created role you will be reporting directly to the General Manager, Property & Development.  The key purpose of the role is to lead the strategic management and operational oversight of the hospital portfolio ensuring its overall success and alignment with their organisational goals. 
  
Key to your success in this role will be your ability to draw on the extensive expertise of the property team with the key focus on optimising portfolio performance through proactive, timely and effective delivery of key strategic objectives. 
  
Key accountabilities will include: Strategic leadership – implementing a wide variety of strategic plans across the hospital portfolio Team Management – providing leadership and direction to the property team to deliver quality outcomes Asset Management – providing oversight and direction across all aspects of the day-to-day management of the portfolio eg leasing, maintenance programmes, OPEX/CAPEX management and project planning Stakeholder Engagement – internal and external including hospital management teams, tenants, contractors and consultants Financial Oversight – preparation and management of portfolio budgets including OPEX, CAPEX and tenancy revenue, preparation and presentation of financial reports and forecasts Risk Management – identification and mitigation of all property associated risks with the key focus on hospital business continuity Performance Analysis – implementation and utilisation of performance metrics monitoring delivery of service to the hospital network Portfolio Optimisation – collaboration with the property technical team to identify opportunities to operate a smarter portfolio   To be considered for this role you will have: At least 10 years Commercial or Healthcare property management experience Extensive experience and knowledge of the process and planning associated with managing a national property portfolio Robust understanding of the property life-cycle Exposure to large CAPEX projects Excellent reporting, communication, analytical, numeracy and problem-solving skills Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, budgets and business case preparation Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills A relevant tertiary property qualification or relevant experience  This is a tremendous opportunity to work on a highly specialised property portfolio throughout New Zealand.  Across their network Southern Cross Healthcare combines the skills of more than 4,000 health professionals.  It is an exciting time to join them as they continue to expand with a number of new developments in the pipeline.
