We currently have a vacancy for a Trade Assistant responsible for supporting the operational teams ensuring all treatment facilities in the Wellington region are operated effectively.

What you'll be responsible for The role is responsible for ensuring the best effluent possible, by ensuring key operational tasks and responsibilities are as follows: Contractual and resource consents compliance - meeting discharge quality standards, monitoring of operations.
Delivery of operations and minor maintenance tasks around sites in a timely manner.
Delivery of preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
Identifying and escalating problems both maintenance and process.
Undertaking designated operations duties under supervision.
Working with internal staff, sharing of knowledge and skills.
While under supervision, carry out all work using the appropriate Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Environmental Management System.
Undertake required regulatory and role specific on the job training.
VAMS - Recording of all work undertaken and sign off of work schedules / ad-hoc work.
All employees are responsible for reporting hazards, incidents and accidents through the correct procedures.
Any other duties as and when required.
Comply with VW-ANZ Behaviour Framework.

Adhere to all written and verbal instructions, procedures and information issued by Veolia relating to both health and safety and environmental issues and with all relevant clauses of the Integrated Business Management System Manual.
Comply with the requirements of the company's business management system and the Quality Policy for wastewater treatment and disposal to contribute to the company's commitment to provide safe, high quality wastewater services that consistently meets or exceeds the requirements of the Contracts.
What you'll need to be successful Qualifications: Computer literacy.
Knowledge of wastewater treatment.
Motor vehicle drivers licence.
Combination of education, training and experience with maintenance systems and team development.
Personal Attributes: Ability to assess and assimilate a wide range of information and consolidate a position or assessment effectively.
Persistence and confidence in own judgment and capability.
Ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances, strong analytical skills and focus on quality of work.
Results focused team player.
High degree of personal integrity.
A positive attitude.
Other relevant skills or information: Physically fit.
Strong literacy, numeracy, computing, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and contractors.
Motivation and enthusiasm, a keen eye for detail and a desire for excellent customer service.
