Tarora is developing a boutique resort on an idyllic 1,000-hectare private estate, located 30-minutes outside the closest township of Te Anau.
This unique project includes renovation and relocation of classic timber resort buildings as well as building new resort facilities on the main site.
Job Description As a Tiler/Paver at Tarora, you will work hands-on with various tiling tasks. Reporting to the onsite Project Manager, your expertise will ensure the highest standards of safety and workmanship are achieved and maintained throughout the different project stages. You will work closely with the onsite construction team to deliver top-quality tiling services, meeting all regulatory and consent requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities Work hands-on for the installation, repair, and maintenance of tiled surfaces, including floors, walls, and other surfaces.
Apply advanced tiling techniques to ensure top-quality workmanship.
Read and interpret tiling blueprints, plans, and specifications accurately, ensuring all work complies with these documents and associated regulatory requirements.
Troubleshoot and identify solutions for complex tiling issues.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work site, tools, and equipment.
Follow company policies, regulations, and industry standards rigorously.
Diagnose issues, propose effective solutions, and execute repairs.
Adhere to safety protocols, ensuring safety during all tiling tasks, including measuring, cutting, and setting tiles.
Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Requirements Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
Extensive knowledge of tiling materials and methods.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in interpreting designs, plans, and instructions.
Strong familiarity with building and safety industry standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical fitness and reasonable strength, as lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces may be required.
Strong attention to detail and pride in work quality.
Full-time, permanent position (minimum 32 hours/week).

Daily transport in/out from workplace to Te Anau is provided (40-minutes one-way).
