Key Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for tiling by performing tasks such as sanding, scraping, patching, and priming to ensure a smooth base for tile application.
Tile Installation: Apply tiles to a variety of surfaces, including floors, walls, and countertops, using appropriate adhesives, grouts, and tools such as trowels and spacers. Ensure tiles are properly aligned, spaced, and leveled for a seamless finish.
Material Selection: Select and recommend appropriate tiles, adhesives, and materials based on surface types, project specifications, and environmental factors.
Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and use protective equipment to ensure a safe working environment. Adhere to project specifications, blueprints, and quality standards to meet client expectations.
Work Area Maintenance: Maintain clean and organized work areas, including the proper storage and disposal of tiling materials and tools.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other team members to coordinate tiling schedules and prioritize tasks. Communicate effectively to address any touch-up or repair work as needed to achieve a flawless finish.
Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and is free from defects or imperfections.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
1. Three-years proven experience as a Tiler or similar role in construction or renovation projects.
2. Must be available to work early mornings and weekends (based on work arrangement).
3. Good physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions, including on ladders and in confined spaces.
4. Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
5. Pre-employed drug test and police check is required.
