The Doctors Kerikeri - Extended Care ParamedicThe Doctors Kerikeri is looking for an Experienced Care Paramedic to join their dynamic and progressive GP practice to work with a supportive and experienced team of 8 doctors, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurses, Medical Care Assistants, Health Improvement Practitioner, Health Coach, and admin team.
About the role The Extended Care Paramedic (ECP) is a paramedicine professional working in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide care management and same-day urgent care. Besides providing urgent care, ECPs attend both scheduled and unscheduled low acuity patients across the age range, where they undertake a thorough clinical assessment of the patient's medical history and condition, order any pathology testing as required, interpret the results, and based on a clinical diagnosis, institute a short to medium-term care plan with appropriate medical referral as required. The ECP has a significant understanding of pathophysiology, pharmacology, and disease process.
Hours for this role are 24 - 32 hours but we are happy to be flexible and discuss with individuals. Do you have what we are looking for? Degree in ParamedicineCompleted a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science (Paramedicine) with ECP specialisationIn-depth experience in clinical practice, ideally in a range of health and community service settingsA good understanding of developing and maintaining clinical systemsDemonstrated multi-stakeholder management, including health institutionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to build a strong rapport with team membersA physically fit person who is resilient, confident, friendly, and approachableIf you are keen to discuss this opportunity in primary care, we would love to hear from you.
