As a B2B company, we partner with leading energy retailers and distributors in New Zealand and Australia.We have an exciting newly created opportunity for an Environment and Release Lead to join the high performing full stack agile DevOps team. In this role, you will be responsible for quality control of software solutions in the test environment, the releases and influencing configuration management.Key responsibilities include:Support team that deliver solutions through the practices of Behaviour Driven Development and Test-Driven Development.Assist in implementing and communicating hardware and software version control processes, policies and procedures.Managing the coordination of efforts to configure environments and tracking the status of environment configuration activities.Develop, coordinate and manage the release lifecycle including the creation of release packages, release notes, deployment activities, release schedules and reviews.Participate in the Change Acceptance Board processes.Enhance reliable software releases through build, test, and deployment automation.Develop rollback criteria and plans for rolling back a deployment.Manage risks, multiple components and dependencies.Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.Resolve and escalate impediments, manage risk, assures value delivery, and drives program-level continuous improvement.Who we are looking forTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have 5-7 years' relevant experience with a degree in business or computer science. You will also have proven experience:working with release management principles and best practices.working with modern approaches to deployment automation on both cloud-based infrastructure and bare-metal servers.working in an agile environment.organizing and tracking the progress of multiple projects across the software development lifecycle.driving the strategy and continuous improvements of the software development capability.Additionally, you will have strong leadership skills with a problem solving and continuous improvement mindset.
