Are you an experienced data cabler including as a minimum, Cat 6, Cat 6A, Fibre and Voice cabling?We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced technician to join our Dunedin delivery team with a can-do and customer focused attitude.The successful applicant will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of various Structured Data & Voice Networks including copper and fibre. You will sometimes work alone, but mostly with other technicians.Job DescriptionInstalling, maintaining, and repairing cable infrastructure.Performing maintenance on existing cabling systems.Terminate and test newly installed or relocated cables according to required standards.Identifying and removing redundant cabling.Installing of active equipment.Troubleshooting issues with a cable network.Installing of cable support structures such as catenary wires, cable tray, and ducts.Ensuring all cables are neatly run and bundled when necessary.Set up project sites ensuring all necessary materials are on site, program of works, and all aspects of the project are understood.Be familiar with all aspects of building site Health & Safety and practice this at all times.Maintain accurate job records and ensure that the company's processes and systems are adhered to.Input daily hours on all projects.Regularly review work processes and identify areas of improvement.Accountability and Performance MeasuresBe able to work independently or in a team with the ability to run small projects as required.Communicate to supervisors all issues or variances to task on all projects.Updates Senior technician daily on progress and status changes for projects.Listen, understand and carry out safe work practices and procedures.Complete required training and development objectives within the assigned time frames.Abide by specific internally established control systems, conduct activities in accordance with all applicable laws, standards and policies, including environmental and health & safety policies.QualificationsProven experience on construction sites in New Zealand.Ability to use Fluke testers for both copper and fibre cabling.3-5 Years on-site experience installing data cable infrastructure.Strong motivational and empowerment skills.Experience with Nurse Call solutions and working in hospital environments would be useful.Strong relationship management skills and ability to relate at all levels.High level of emotional intelligence and ability to remain calm under pressure.If you have Police, Ministry Of Justice, or additional security clearances, this would be an added advantage.Clean New Zealand drivers licence.Site Safe, First aid & EWP licenses would be useful but not essential.Hours of WorkA minimum of 40 hours per week normally worked during business hours of 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
