If you are studying Level 6 Surveying Diploma or are committed to doing so, this position will allow you to combine your studies with practical experience. Working as part of the Open Pit technical services team, you will provide support to ensure production targets are met.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain survey control points that ensure the highest accuracy for the mine.Prioritise, coordinate, and execute all production survey field work tasks requested by internal customers to meet the requirements of the production schedule.Undertake period as-built surveys using surveying technology including total stations, GNSS and UAVs.Deformation monitoring surveys of pit walls and structures.Maintain a high standard of communication between the miners, consultants and OGL staff associated with the open pit mine.Maintain survey equipment in good working order and report any defects to the Senior Mine Surveyor.Utilise survey and 3D modelling computer software to process and disseminate survey data as required in the appropriate format (hardcopy and digital).Qualifications:Degree in Earth Sciences, Engineering, OR Surveying or willing to undertake New Zealand Diploma in Surveying (Level 6) with the company's support.Full, clean, current drivers licence; ability to drive manual vehicles is essential.Further tertiary qualifications/industry certifications/mining experience would be well regarded.Additional Information:Grow with us: we commit to funding your Level 6 Diploma in Surveying if required.Enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package, including free private medical.Live and work in the stunning Otago region, at NZ's largest gold mine.OGC VALUES: CARE | RESPECT | INTEGRITY | PERFORMANCE | TEAMWORKOceanaGold is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.If you share the same values and have what we are looking for, please apply online now via our careers website:https://careers.oceanagold.com/jobsApplications close 13th November 2024.
