We are seeking to recruit a Technical Support Officer to be part of our Infrastructure Assets team by providing a range of administrative and organisational support services based within our hard working and talented Infrastructure Services department, you'll have a great opportunity to work on a variety of important tasks whilst learning great new skills. What will you do? The successful candidate will hold responsibility for a variety of important duties including, but not limited to: Carrying out a variety of administrative duties, ensuring a high level of accuracy is maintained at all times.Providing an exceptional level of customer service to both internal employees and external parties.Assist the Manager Infrastructure Planning in delivery of Long-term and Annual plansCreating and updating reports whilst ensuring that Asset management databases are sufficiently maintainedEnsuring planned activities on council owned reserves are compliant against Buller District Council Health and Safety policies and proceduresCollaborating with other departments to ensure that all information land/ property enquiries are accurately responded to within an appropriate timeframe Skills and experience The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: 3-5 years of demonstrated office administration.Great working knowledge of numerous computer packages such as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel SpreadsheetsExcellent administration and customer service skills.The ability to carry out a range of reporting duties, ensuring data is captured and presented both accurately and timely.Experience with GIS software and asset management systems would be an advantage.Excellent time management skills.Proficiency at report writing and proof reading documents.Excellent listening, interpersonal & presentation skills.Proficiency in written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise reports.Honesty, integrity & reliability.Resilience and the ability to work under pressure. Our ideal candidate will be highly skilled in carrying out a number of administrative duties, including report writing with an ability to deliver an exceptional level of customer service. Local knowledge of our district and communities along with some understanding of financial systems is advantageous but training will be provided.
