Reliability Technician

Westland Milk Products is a well-known New Zealand end to end dairy manufacturer based in the beautiful South Island. We process over 700 million litres of milk a year and produce a wide range of consumer and foodservice products, and dairy ingredients. The Role Based at our Hokitika site, we are looking for a Reliability Technician to assist with the identification and management of asset reliability risk that could adversely affect plant or business operations. Reporting to the Lead Reliability Engineer, this role will assist with the development of a reliability-based maintenance strategy, based on preventative and predictive maintenance. Also assisting with loss elimination, risk management and life cycle asset management, this role will be one of the first points of contact for plant down time, reliability and root-cause analysis.

The Reliability Technician will also carry out and complete proactive and planned maintenance of all plant, machinery, buildings and services, including inspection, troubleshooting, repairs and replacement of mechanical and electrical systems as required.

The Successful Candidate Will Ideally Possess An engineering background with specific manufacturing plant experience
Knowledge of maintenance diagnostics
Ideally a trade qualification in Engineering or similar.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The ability to ensure that work is completed to a high standard and to meet deadlines
A proactive and cooperative approach and the ability to work as part of a small team
The ability to identify issues relating to R&M and site services that need resolution
Ability to manage time and prioritise and organise workload
Proficiency with basic office computer software
A high level of problem-solving capability.
A bonus would be any reliability specific training such as VCAT 1, 2 or 3, Ultrasound, Asset management, field lubrication, Infrared.
