Overview The Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) team delivers a managed Kubernetes service on Azure to make enterprises successful at building, deploying, and managing cloud native applications.

The team is responsible for building AKS' features and experiences, improving its fundamentals like reliability, scale and performance as well as expanding its ecosystem with 1st and 3rd party product partnerships.

Kubernetes orchestrates applications on an infrastructure. The reliability of that infrastructure is of utmost importance to customers to ensure the availability of their applications.

At AKS, we are working on improving the infrastructure reliability and stability so that our customers can experience the highest uptime possible in the industry.

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager II to join the AKS Fundamentals team and focus on platform reliability. In this role, you will define a set of metrics to measure and report on the reliability experienced by customers in Azure Kubernetes Service.

You will analyze the pain points of our customers, plan and prioritize improvements, and drive engineering teams across Azure to address those pain points.

You will lead programs to evolve engineering culture around quality and make a big impact on Azure customers' experience.

Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product / technical program management, data analysis, or product development. OR equivalent experience. 2+ years of experience in a technical role. 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and / or cross-team projects. Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of Program Management or Product Management experience. Experience with container technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift. Experience in data analytics. BA / BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Responsibilities Define and track success metrics for platform reliability and drive empathy for customer issues. Learn from customers about their experience; analyze data and prioritize customer pain points. Launch and drive programs to address quality gaps in existing processes and products. Create and prioritize a shared roadmap across Azure Infrastructure services to improve reliability for Kubernetes scenarios. Partner closely with Azure Compute, Networking, Storage, and other Azure teams to drive the roadmap.
