Xero is a beautiful, easy-to-use platform that helps small businesses and their accounting and bookkeeping advisors grow and thrive. At Xero, our purpose is to make life better for people in small business, their advisors, and communities around the world. This purpose sits at the centre of everything we do. We support our people to do the best work of their lives so that they can help small businesses succeed through better tools, information and connections. Because when they succeed they make a difference, and when millions of small businesses are making a difference, the world is a more beautiful place.
About the Team
The Engineering Experience portfolio is our developer enablement function, where we accelerate product teams by removing friction in their development process, so that customer value can be delivered with speed, safety and efficiency. We are at the forefront of technology adoption for Xero and provide platforms and tools that enable rapid development and innovation, and include some of the best and brightest technology talent in the locations where we operate.
About the Role
We are looking for two intermediate-level Product Managers to support driving business value through our developer enablement tooling, owning new and existing products that empower Xero's product and engineering teams to deliver towards their goals. The key products for these roles include:

Our external developer API gateway
Third party developer tools
Uplifting Xero's testing capabilities

In this role you will manage products end-to-end, working with Product and Engineering teams to help realise the implementation, and drive improvements over time. Your impact will be measured by key commercial and customer success metrics. You will be comfortable working autonomously where appropriate, with the support of your product leadership team. This opportunity will be working in a very technical space, so knowledge about how software is developed, built, and supported is essential.
What you'll do

Support developing roadmaps to help execute on the strategy, focusing on iterative value towards our team and company goals
Work with customers, both internal to Xero and external, to collect and understand insights that help define and shape our products
Build relationships with the broader product and engineering teams, influencing without authority and collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders
Support our strategy for engineering focused products and tooling to help realise Xero's technical goals
Take responsibility for managing risks arising from non-functional concerns including security, privacy, regulatory change and compliance, accuracy, responsible data use and availability
Work with your teams to establish team delivery cadence and rituals, facilitating these as required
Monitor and analyse the ongoing performance of a product both from a commercial and customer perspective

What you'll bring with you

At least 2 years product management experience
Experience in executing on roadmaps, being able to take plans and making them happen
A background in working on software engineering problems, particularly in cloud-based environments (for example, as a software engineer, or building capabilities for engineers)
Some experience in working on product roadmaps, agile processes, defining stories and managing backlogs
Strong communication skills that can adapt to the right audience, clearly and concisely
A metrics driven mindset, able to bring together multiple views and inputs, and turn that into requirements to support product development

Why Xero?
Offering very generous paid leave to use however you'd like (plus statutory holidays!), dedicated paid leave to care for your physical and mental wellbeing as well as an Employee Assistance Program to access mental health care for you and your family, free medical insurance, wellbeing and sports programmes, employee resource groups, 26 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers, an Employee Share Plan, beautiful offices, flexible working, career development, and many other benefits that reflect our human value, you'll do the best work of your life at Xero.
