The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) is embarking on a modernisation journey to enhance internal product delivery and provide improved services to the New Zealand public. As part of this exciting transformation, we are creating a new Product team in our Service Delivery and Operations branch that will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of one of our core products, which plays a starring role in the delivery of key services. The team will work closely with a number of internal and external groups to design, optimize and expand the capability of this key product.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Product Lead to join our waka and support this important mahi.
The Product Lead will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality products and services that will drive continuous improvement across our system to improve both staff and customer user experiences. As the responsible owner on behalf of Te Tari, this role represents a key conduit between the business and the delivery team, engaging closely with Senior Leaders to ensure work is prioritised to best deliver to business objectives.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Significant, proven experience in product management or related roles.
Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience working with senior stakeholders such as DCEs, GMs and governance groups.
Demonstrated proficiency in navigating both strategic planning and hands-on execution.
Experience with agile methodologies and product development processes.
Because of the work we do, you need to have New Zealand Citizenship to be considered for this role.
