Introduction:Blue River Dairy and the Blue River Group are world leaders in the sourcing and production of sheep milk and goat milk formulations. An exciting opportunity has emerged to join this best-in-class Technical team, based in our Invercargill office which is just 3 blocks from the CBD.About the role:We are currently looking for a Technical Associate to join our talented and diverse team. Reporting to the Technical Manager, this will provide you a great opportunity to extend your knowledge and skills. This is a varied role where no two days will be the same!Some of the things you will be doing include:Formulation for New Product Development (NPD)Stability study for NPDProcess capability study for NPDOptimisation/improvement for existing productDocumentation such as generating manuals, procedures, and work instructionsResults trending and analysis.If you're reading this and thinking that it all sounds like great fun, then we'd love to hear from you.Skills and Experiences:There are two grant channels as detailed below. In your application please make it clear which one you are applying for. Blue River Dairy is only able to select one candidate.R&D Experience GrantTo be eligible the student must:Have studied or be studying at a New Zealand tertiary education institution (note: students who have completed study overseas are not eligible)Be studying at NZQA level 6-10 or if study has been completed the closing date of the last semester must be less than 12 months ago.Be studying science, engineering, technology, design, or business.Be legally permitted to work in New Zealand.Not have been previously employed at Blue River Dairy unless part-time or temporary.Not have undertaken more than two Experience Grant internships with the same business.For the successful student of the R&D Experience Grant, this is a full-time but fixed term position for a period of 10 weeks (400 hours). The successful candidate will work Monday - Friday with hours generally 8.30am-5.00pm. The minimum hourly rate for this position is $27.80.R&D Career GrantTo be eligible the student must:Be about to complete, or have recently completed, a Masters or PhD degree in food science, food engineering, chemical engineering, food nutrition or food technology - i.e. have submitted a thesis for marking (or completed course requirements for taught Masters) less than 12 months ago.Have undertaken the study at a New Zealand tertiary institution if you are not a New Zealand citizen.Be legally permitted to work in New Zealand.Not have been employed in the industry under a professional arrangement related to your area of study except temporary, part-time or at a tertiary organisation.Not have been previously employed at Blue River Dairy unless this was short-term employment (e.g. over the summer break).For the successful Masters or PhD applicant of the R&D Career Grant, this is a full-time but fixed term position for a period of six months. The successful candidate will work Monday - Friday with hours generally 8.30am-5.00pm.
