About the Role – Team Lead, Nga Whare Tuhono Mental Health Residential Service The Nga Whare Tuhono Residential Mental Health Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing a team within a residential mental health facility.
This role involves providing leadership, supervision, and support to staff, ensuring high-quality care to our whanaunga, and coordinating with external agencies and healthcare professionals.
The Team Lead will be instrumental in promoting a therapeutic environment and ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with the Runanga six pou: whanaungatanga, Arohatanga, Manaakitanga, Rangatiratanga, Tika, and Pono, as well as regulatory requirements.
Position details This role is primarily based in a residential facility, with occasional requirements to attend external meetings or events.
Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm.
Please note on occasions you may be required to work outside of these hours, depending on the support needs of whanaunga.
Starting from $85,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience).
A day in the role Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, ensuring regular feedback, performance appraisals, and professional development.
Oversee resident care management, ensuring that individualised care plans are developed, implemented, and reviewed in collaboration with whanaunga and their families.
Coordinate with external agencies, healthcare professionals, and community resources to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to care.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies, maintaining quality assurance through audits and reviews of care practices.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between Nga Whare Tuhono and external stakeholders, representing the organisation in case conferences and meetings.
Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of whanaunga care, staff performance, and facility operations, preparing reports as required by legal and organisational standards.
Contribute to the development and evaluation of new programs and initiatives aimed at improving care delivery and operational efficiency.
Provide leadership during crisis situations, managing emergencies and coordinating with emergency services, while implementing effective crisis intervention plans.
We are seeking a Community Registered Mental Health Nurse who: Prides themselves on their ability to work to a whanau first, tikanga based, wellbeing approach.
Is a Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
Has post-graduate qualifications or specialisation in mental health nursing.
Has experience working in mental health or related fields.
Has evidence of being fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19.
Holds a full driver's licence.
Has proof of your right to work in New Zealand (minimum one year).
