The Collection Development team is responsible for developing the current use collections of Auckland Council Libraries in all formats, to align with the principles in our Collection Development Policy. He angitutanga: The opportunity Day to day your responsibilities will look like: Leading the Collection Development team to develop collections that align with the principles in our Collection Development Policy. Keeping a close eye on content and publishing developments and customer behavior. Supporting the team to develop new and innovative collections in response to changing expectations. Coordinating the annual planning process for collections budgets. Directing the team in the day-to-day management and monitoring of expenditure. Providing effective contract and supplier relationship management. Working on collection procurements to achieve optimum terms with suppliers. This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible working arrangements available. The role is based at Auckland Central Library. He korero mou: About you We are looking for a collaborative leader who can demonstrate the following: Tertiary degree in library and information studies. 7+ years' experience in collections work in a large library or equivalent environment. Proven experience in team leadership and staff development. Significant experience in managing budgets. In-depth knowledge of collection development best practices and related work processes. Expertise in financial and budget management. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Comfort working under pressure and meeting deadlines in a complex political and financial environment.
