Looking for an opportunity to lead an HR Advisory team?
The Team Leader, HR Advisory sits within Customs' Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD) team. HRSD works with business units across Customs to provide fit for purpose, pragmatic and customer focused advice and solutions that are aligned to the strategic direction of Customs.
The Team Leader Human Resources manages, develops and leads a team of HR professionals in the provision of high-quality advice and guidance that supports managers to make strategic people decisions and manage tactical and operational people issues as they arise. They are a key member of the HR Service Delivery leadership team and the wider People and Capability group, and operate as a key advisor and resource for senior leaders across Customs. You'll be responsible for:
Leading the HR Advisory team to facilitate the achievement of objectivesManaging individual performance, setting objectives, measuring and reviewing performanceCoaching and mentoring team members, ensuring their skills are kept up to date, and promoting career and personal development, providing opportunities for professional growthPartnering with managers to support shaping of people strategies, goals and prioritiesIdentifying ways service delivery models can be improved to provide a greater focus on efficiency and effectiveness; and enhanced to maximise the use of resourcesLeading and contributing to the creation and implementation of fit for purpose frameworks, policies and tools to empower managers to confidently lead and manage their teamsBuilding and maintaining effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders ensuring high quality engagement to build positive and effective working relationshipsCreating a supportive environment that promotes bi-culturalism and responsiveness to Maori issues.About you | Ko wai koe To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
Significant experience in HR management across the spectrum of people practices and functions, including experience in providing leadership to HR staffProven ability to lead teams to successful outcomes while maintaining strong engagement levelsWell-developed knowledge of HR best practice methods, specialist knowledge and experience across Employment Relations, Remuneration, Performance Management and Change ManagementDemonstrated success in delivering quality business advice to key stakeholders, and commitment to service excellence through continuous improvement and innovative approaches to issuesExcellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex, analytical and/or sensitive data to wide ranging audiences across all levelsProven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, particularly senior management and budget holdersAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearanceA tertiary qualification at least equivalent to Bachelors level in HR Management, Organisation Development or similar academic discipline is desirable.How to apply | Me pehea te whakauru… Please apply online by submitting a CV outlining your skills and experience.
