We're looking for a Kaitaki-a-tima, Team Leader, Consents Management to join our friendly Infrastructure, Assets and Support team. This role is a permanent full-time position based in our central Wellington office.Infrastructure, Assets and Support provides technical expertise and support to Delivery and to the broader Environment Group across a range of areas, including asset, consent, and project management as well as in financial and contract management, and workforce planning. Infrastructure, Assets and Support functions as a centre of excellence for these areas, lifting capability and driving innovation, setting standards, and ensuring consistency in practice across Delivery.The Consents Management team will champion and promote new ways of working in respect to te taiao and legislation, providing expert technical advice, education and training to achieve this. The team will prepare and lead the consenting strategy for Delivery, obtain and implement statutory approvals (resource consents and notices of requirement), including compliance, monitoring, and reporting.About the role:In your role of Team Leader, Consents Management you will lead, support, and develop a small team of resource management professionals who provide technical advice, analysis, and support to ensure that Delivery activities comply with legislation and work practices are improved.Skills and experience required:A tertiary qualification in relevant resource management or business discipline.Comprehensive working knowledge and practical experience in Resource Management from an operational perspective, knowledge of other relevant legislation including the Reserves and Soil Conservation and River Control Acts is advantageous.Strong strategic thinking and critical analysis skills, able to demonstrate the ability to make good decisions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in collaborative approaches to resource management.Capability in te ao Maori in line with Greater Wellington's Maori Capability Framework.Ability to understand and adhere to tikanga and continue to build knowledge of matauranga Maori/Te Ao Maori principles across the team and application of this understanding into the work programme.Demonstrated ability to work with mana whenua, iwi, and/or Maori organisations in delivering on both formal and informal partnerships and around areas of shared interest; including ability to understand GW's current relationships and commitments to mana whenua, Treaty of Waitangi responsibilities and partnership-related legislative and governance requirements.What we offer:Work to suit your life and whanau with our flexible working policy.We'll encourage you to grow and prosper with a range of learning and development opportunities, internal secondments and career progression.Your wellbeing is our priority - we'll provide medical and trauma insurance, support through our employee assistance programme or Manawa Ora providers, generous annual and sick leave, along with Tangihanga leave and support.We want you to have a sense of belonging, where you can reflect your personal and cultural identity in the way that you work.Social clubs, staff networks and a friendly and inclusive culture.Great working environments across our beautiful region.Come help treasure and grow our rohe togetherOur rohe and its lands, waterways, animals, plants and people can only grow stronger if they are nurtured.
