We work together every day to shape a community and create a city that we can be truly proud of.About the team | Ko te ropu neiThe Parks Unit within the Christchurch City Council has an exciting future ahead as it relays the foundations of a world-class environment for future generations, much as the founding residents of this City did to create the remarkable parks network we enjoy today.About you/the role | Ko Koe TeneiAs the Team Leader, you will lead a team to ensure that the parks, gardens and associated assets of our Community Parks are presented and maintained in a manner that enhances Christchurch City's image as New Zealand's "Garden City".You'll be responsible for all aspects of parks maintenance relevant to your area, to ensure cost-effectiveness and agreed service levels are met. Pivotal to success will be your relationship-building skills with members of the individual communities, as well as local elected members and interest groups. You'll foster and enhance these relationships to ensure meaningful and effective service delivery.We want you to showcase your leadership capability, and to motivate and develop your team to deliver consistently excellent service. The ability to build and maintain relationships not only with your peers within the Parks unit but across diverse groups will come naturally to you.You'll ideally come from a background in Parks management and demonstrate experience in a leadership role where managing competing demands are the norm.This is a truly unique opportunity to make this role your own in a sector that holds a special connection to the people of our garden city. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.Closing Date - Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and interviews may take place prior to the close date.
