You will inspire, lead, and motivate a team of communications advisors and content creators working alongside the organisation to connect Council with its communities.You will ensure a proactive and innovative communications approach that delivers timely, open, and transparent information for all audiences.To be successful in this role, you will have communications, people leadership and media management experience alongside a collaborative approach that sees you easily engage with a wide variety of stakeholders.You will be politically astute, structured, deadline focused and a true problem-solver who is adept at advising on, and developing, communications and media strategies and plans. You'll need the flexibility to be available on an on-call basis and will bring:Demonstrated effective leadership experience in a relevant fieldStrong communication skills; written and verbalExperience working with mediaBreadth of experience across communications platformsSound judgement and decision-making skillsAbility to manage conflict, have difficult conversations and build positive working relationshipsStrong awareness of tikanga Maori and te reo MaoriThis role is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of creative and motivated communications professionals who care for and support each other and have a shared passion to do their best for the Taupo District and its communities.
